Bryon Russell Challenges Michael Jordan

A lot of people that I knew were fans of Michael Jordan growing up. It almost got to the point that you couldn't walk more than a block or so without seeing the familiar red #23 jersey with the word "Jordan" on the back of it. And don't get me wrong -- I eJordan_Russellnjoyed watching His Airness play, too. He transcended the game in so many ways, creating shots out of nowhere, dunking with a combination of elegance and power that no one had exhibited before and his game influenced millions of youngsters around the world who practiced his moves on the playground day after day. However one person who is no longer a fan is Bryon Russell. You might remember Russell as the man tasked with guarding Jordan during the battles between Utah and Chicago in the Finals -- particularly the play where Jordan (conveniently moving him out of the way with his off-hand) hit a jumper over Russell to give them the championship in what should have been Jordan's last game, But now, offended by Jordan's Hall of Fame speech, Russell is challenging Jordan to a game of one-on-one to help settle the score. Apparently the Cal State Long Beach alum was offended by Jordan's speech in which Jordan mentioned where his motivation came to dominate opponents and Russell is challenging Jordan to come out to California to play a game of one-on-one, which Russell obviously feels as though he'll win. Here at Starving Students, we'd like to offer the winner of the potential one-on-one matchup the opportunity to use our Cram Session This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
