Brian Urlacher Out For The Season

The NFL season got underway this past weekend and while there were many stories that came out of the exciting season openers, perhaps the biggest news was that Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher is out for the season due to a Urlacherdislocated right wrist, an injury that he suffered in their opening season loss to the Green Bay Packers Sunday night. The Pro Bowl linebacker's injury is a striking blow to a Bears team that had high expectations following the acquisition of quarterback Jay Cutler this past offseason. Urlacher had started 49 consecutive games in his 10-year career and has missed only seven games -- all of those in the 2004 season when he injured his hamstring. The news that Urlacher will miss the team's remaining regular season games ensures that he will more than double his previous missed games total.
